ActiveCampaign and Keap are two prominent players in the digital marketing and customer relationship management (CRM) space. They offer solutions tailored for small to medium-sized businesses, but there are notable differences in their features and functionalities.
ActiveCampaign is primarily known for its advanced email marketing and automation capabilities. It allows users to create complex, automated marketing workflows that can be triggered by various user actions and behaviors. This makes it an excellent tool for businesses focusing on nurturing leads and personalizing their marketing messages. ActiveCampaign also includes CRM features, but they are more complementary to its email marketing strengths rather than the core focus.
Keap, on the other hand, is more CRM-focused. It provides robust client management tools, allowing businesses to track interactions, manage leads, and automate sales processes effectively. Keap integrates these CRM capabilities with its email marketing...

Nine Years of Struggle with Keap
I used Infusionsoft and Keap for 9 years, attempting to create a flawless, automated marketing system, but I never succeeded. I eventually switched to ActiveCampaign, which offers more valuable features for less cost. I found the Campaign Builder most useful, but it was difficult to set up, flawed, and lacked crucial features, resulting in a love/hate relationship with it. Every feature seemed excellent at first, but there was always something missing or broken when I tried to implement them, rendering them unusable. This included features like SMS in campaign sequences or scheduling. I don't even believe they have responsive order forms yet, so I had to use ThriveCart. I moved to Keap because I needed marketing automation, not just a shopping cart.

Exploring the Intricacies of Keap's Unique API: A Thrilling Experience
I'm genuinely thrilled with Keap's API! It's so unique that it keeps me engaged and challenged. When I command it to return ALL, it selectively filters the entries, which I find intriguing. It's clear the developers have put thought into this. I reached out to their call center for guidance, and they encouraged me to explore it myself, which I find empowering. It's an opportunity to delve deeper into their distinctive API. It's exciting that their function called ALL doesn't just hand everything to you on a silver platter. Now, I get to spend my time unraveling the intricacies of their platform, which is a fantastic learning experience!

Effortless Campaign Automation with Keap
As a small, high-tech business owner, I find Keap's automatic lead follow-up features extremely useful. It helps me keep track of leads and customers, stay organized, and prioritize my contacts. I use it for promoting and following up after trade shows and webinars, and for text and email marketing. I appreciate the automated email and text message sending, lead scoring, and webinar sign-up reports. However, I find Keap lacking in some crucial functionality and customer support. Once I left the CRM, all my outgoing emails were marked as spam and I found their template makers' interfaces unappealing. I switched to Keap because it performs the basic functions of a customer relationship management system and aids in note consolidation. It performs all the functions of a more expensive fully-integrated multi-CRM system.

Nearly a Year with Keap: A Landscaping Company's Experience
I've found Keap to be a great tool for my small landscaping company, offering improved marketing management, new automations, and better lead capturing and appointment management. I commend their customer service, which is vital for us. I appreciate having contact and lead management, group texting, email marketing, and automations all in one affordable software. While other software may offer strong services, they often fall short in other areas and try to compensate by stacking software, which can be time-consuming and more expensive than anticipated. Keap, on the other hand, covers many areas with one in-house software system. They do have some weaknesses, but overall, they have a good system that could be further developed. My main issues with Keap are the lack of a menu option for the business phone line, which is problematic if more than one person is answering or making calls, and sending messages. I would also like more flexibility with Zapier integrations.

Infusionsoft: A Disappointing Downfall
As a customer for over 7 years, I regret to say that I can no longer endorse Infusionsoft, now known as Keap. I was once a strong advocate, even attending Infusioncon in Phoenix, but the software now has numerous unresolved bugs and issues. A significant problem is that all our emails to Yahoo and Telus are bouncing, an issue Keap is aware of and has been attempting to fix for over a month. This results in our emails being delivered inconsistently. For Canadians, all Rogers emails will bounce. Additionally, Keap's customer service lacks knowledge. The representatives seem to have limited understanding and often need to consult others for answers. If you speak to a different representative, you're likely to receive a different response. There are also many bugs, such as the contact field merging not functioning. Their solution was to simply omit the customer's name in the email.
