      Stunning App, Yet Lacks Practicality

      I was initially attracted to ActiveCollab due to its appealing design and seemingly easy navigation. It provided a client portal and allowed me to manage my jobs, invoicing, and estimates all in one place. However, I soon discovered that the software was more complex than it first appeared, making daily use a hassle. I was also disappointed to discover hidden costs associated with the main features I needed, such as invoicing, time tracking, and using the client portal. Despite advertising a monthly cost of only $7.50, these essential features required additional payment, which was not made clear upfront. My experience with their customer service was also negative. The responses I received were in poor English, which was surprising for an international app. One customer service representative, Darla, was particularly unhelpful and rude. I chose ActiveCollab because it seemed to be the most affordable option for managing my projects, finances, and clients from one place. I switched to it because I wanted to.

      Despite a few drawbacks like the search function and date entry on estimates, I consider Active Collab to be a valuable tool for our team and company. It's crucial for tracking all our projects and billings in one place. It's user-friendly and easy to implement, with straightforward staff on-boarding and an intuitive interface. However, it's disappointing that such a comprehensive and useful software lacks a full feature search function and doesn't include or auto-generate a date field on the estimate form. We primarily chose ActiveCollab because of its cost, but it also offers all the features we need.
