Cons from reviewers
-
Limited agile functionality: Despite its flexibility, Adobe Workfront falls short when it comes to agile functionality. Users who are used to other project management tools like JIRA may find it lacking in this area
-
Complexity and steep learning curve: Adobe Workfront has a lot of features, which can make it seem overly complex and difficult to learn, especially for new users. This can lead to a steep learning curve and a significant amount of onboarding
-
Poor user interface: Some users find the user interface of Adobe Workfront challenging and not user-friendly. It seems to be designed more for project managers or those with formal project management training, which not all users have
-
Inadequate customer service: Some users have reported that the customer service is not responsive enough. When they have issues or queries, they often receive generic responses or are simply forwarded articles to figure out the solution themselves
-
Bugs and technical issues: There have been reports of bugs and technical issues with Adobe Workfront, such as task or issue cards randomly disappearing. The software also seems to lack some anticipated features like Resource Planning, and some functions like task date calculations work unexpectedly.

Overly Complex
I find Adobe Workfront overly comprehensive with no option to hide or remove unnecessary features. The learning curve for implementation and for new users is too steep. I believe there should be instance tiers for smaller organizations that don't require all the features.

Overwhelming for Casual Users: A Look at Adobe Workfront
I tried Adobe Workfront, an organizational tool, but found it too complex for my needs. Despite being a great software, I only use about 40% of its features, making it excessive for me. I'm not comfortable paying over $30 a month for something I only partially use, so I don't plan to continue with it.

Maximizing Team Productivity with Adobe Workfront: A User's Perspective
Overall, I am highly engaged with Adobe Workfront. I value its executive features like task tracking, asset management, and collaboration tools, and I admire its ambitious approach. The ability to customize work processes and include task-related activities is a major advantage. I see it as a vital tool for streamlining project and executive processes and enhancing team productivity, despite a platform-specific learning curve. In my organization, switching from four different platforms—ServiceNow, Excel, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Project—to one has been transformative for project intake, planning, and execution. We created our own workflows, trained our submitters on a single system, and then trained our project managers on the same system. I particularly appreciate the ability to add new features and modifications at any time. However, it does take some time to become accustomed to the program. A significant amount of onboarding is typically required.

Adore Workfront for Waterfall, Proofing & Intake - Agile Requires Improvement
I find Workfront generally easy to use and it works well for waterfall projects. Its customization is highly flexible, almost too much so. However, I only gave it 3 stars because of its limited agile functionality. We're struggling to adapt teams who are used to JIRA to now use Workfront. JIRA users want some of the same functions in Workfront, but they're not available yet. Despite this, Workfront has helped us move from a manual proofing process, like sending large PDFs through email, and has greatly streamlined our intake. Their support and help services are excellent and there's a lot of training available. Be prepared to become an expert if you adopt it!

Worth Checking Out, Yet Lacks Some Essential Features for Me
I initially found Workfront to be subpar until I tried other enterprise-level project management software. It's not the best, but it does a decent job of tracking everything and keeping me informed of my responsibilities. I find the email notifications useful and it's convenient to respond directly in the email or link to the project/task. The proofing tool is a standout feature, allowing in-context commenting and markups, and versioning of proofs. However, the software isn't the most user-friendly or visually appealing. The dashboard could benefit from improved UX and the absence of a proper calendar module is a significant downside. The proofing tool, while impressive, lacks a few features such as marking comments as completed or resolved without a response and creating a linear history of markups. The idea of creating percentages done of a task seems arbitrary. Overall, it gets the job done but it's not particularly enjoyable to use.

Adobe Workfront: A Game-Changing Software with Exceptional Customer Service
Adobe Workfront is an absolute game-changer! I've never come across a software as unique as this one, even though it's from a multi-million dollar company. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to find this site just to share my experience. The software is incredibly exciting to use. The customer support is equally remarkable, they send follow-up emails that keep the conversation concise and to the point. So, if you have multiple queries, which I do because the software is so feature-rich, you're in for a treat with their efficient customer service.
