Good Product, Tough Verification, Absent Customer Service
I find the gocardless dashboard user-friendly and beneficial for cash flow and payment collection. However, I have serious concerns about their customer support, which seems to be struggling, similar to the original PayPal. During verification, they encourage accepting payments, but it's challenging to contact anyone when facing the final hurdle. They often cite FCA rules, but the FCA does not endorse some of their procedures and has clarified that it's not insisting on accounts being the same legal entity as the application. When I do reach support, no one can assist and I'm advised to email instead. The email response time of 3.5 days is not acceptable. I would recommend not adding any customers until fully verified, or else your money could be held hostage in their account.

Lagging and SlowYet Functional
I find gocardless to be lagging and quite slow. It functions, but requires a lot of patience. I believe it could be improved if the developers put more effort into enhancing the User Experience.

GoCardless: A Versatile Solution for WooCommerce & Xero Payments
Overall, I'm happy with GoCardless. I initially used it with my Xero invoices, but after moving my invoicing and subscriptions to WooCommerce, I implemented it there too. However, I noticed that my Xero connection wouldn't stay linked after connecting it to WooCommerce, and I'm not sure if this is a fault or intentional. I now offer GoCardless as an alternative to Stripe for my website's recurring payments. Many of my clients prefer paying from their bank account rather than a credit card, and I'm glad to offer them an auto-billing option. One thing to note is that it takes a while for payments to clear in my account. If you thought Stripe was slow, GoCardless is slower, so keep this in mind when deciding. I chose GoCardless because Chargebee had high fees, and I wasn't a fan of the interface or general settings of both Billforward.io & My Fund Box, especially regarding Australian GST requirements and integration.

Unraveling the GoCardless Invoicing Puzzle: A Unique Experience
I've had quite an interesting experience with GoCardless. We discovered a unique feature in their invoicing system. When we use their service, we receive £99 instead of £1, which is completely understandable. However, the fun part is when the £99 doesn't exactly match the original invoice amount of £1 that the customer paid. It's like a little puzzle, trying to match a £1 invoice with a £99 statement. We even suggested if we could be billed separately for this £1 fee, but they responded with a firm stance on their current system. It's quite refreshing to see a company so confident in their processes. It's a bit of a challenge, but who doesn't love a good challenge?

Efficient Time-Saver that Boosts Cashflow
My experience with GoCardless has been extremely positive. It has automated our invoice billing process, saving us both time and money. I estimate it's about 80% cheaper than our previous software provider. We prefer using BACS or GoCardless for payments. I value the feature that lets us send a customised link with our business logo for sign-ups. This has simplified the process for our customers, who used to have to download, print, sign, and return a form. Now, everything is done online, making it quick and easy. However, sometimes the Direct Debit collected doesn't automatically allocate itself to the customer who paid in our QBO system. I think this is due to our setup, so I need to resolve that. We switched to GoCardless from our previous Direct Debit collector, who charged us a minimum of £100 plus VAT per month, even if only one direct debit was collected. Their system was manual and time-consuming.
