Caution and Explore Options: Egnyte Review

My experience with Egnyte has been similar to others. They were very eager to get me on the platform, but their customer service and support have been terrible. All issues are handled in India, which I have problems with, and resolutions may or may not happen. Communication is difficult due to heavy accents and background noise. I've been passed around different support reps and have had to do countless screen shares. Their pricing/billing model is abusive, as you can't remove users as needed and are locked into what you have. Other companies have better annual billing models, but Egnyte seems incapable of this. You can't adjust your storage yourself, and while you can add more, I don't believe you can remove it. The reps are unresponsive to the point of being useless. The platform itself is still developing and improving, but everything else is lacking. If I could do it all over again, I would choose a different platform. I've been using Egnyte for almost a year.

Egnyte Shines with Additional Services - Not a Standalone Winner

As part of a team assisting a client with Egnyte, we found ourselves re-implementing the system due to a lack of clear understanding from Egnyte about the client's situation, which was frustrating. We often questioned why our client chose Egnyte over MS Teams, as the features were largely similar, except for some additional security. However, if you have some of Egnyte's other add-ons, it can be worth it. Egnyte does offer useful features like fast syncing, offline syncing, and many automated processes, as well as MS Power Automate support. But, Power Automate support comes with an extra cost from Microsoft, and many of Egnyte's basic features are available in MS Teams. So, if you're already paying for Teams, there's no need to get Egnyte unless you also get Protect or GxP environment. They're also relatively new in the Gx.

Reflecting on My 8-Year Journey with Egnyte: A Testament to Transparency and Dedication

I've been a loyal customer of Egnyte for an impressive 8 years and recently made the decision to streamline all my cloud services, which led me to close my account. Even though I was fully paid up and had a few days left until the next cycle, they were proactive in ensuring my account was settled, citing an old agreement that had ended a year ago. Since then, I had been on a quarterly basis and had fully paid for the current quarter. They were so thorough that they even considered charging me for the next quarter to ensure everything was in order. When I questioned the charges, they were quick to remind me of their terms, showing their commitment to transparency and adherence to their policies. Their unique approach to customer service has certainly left an impression on me and I will always remember my time with them. Their dedication to their terms and conditions, as well as their proactive approach to billing, is something I will carry with me as I move forward.

Egnyte Rocks! Ultimate Solution for File Storage, Sharing and Management

I value the ability to install Egnyte drives on my machine as it streamlines file browsing, downloading, and updating by integrating directly into my operating system. I find it incredibly useful that Egnyte lets me revert to previous versions or restore deleted files, particularly when dealing with file or human errors. I also appreciate their online web tool for searching, as it overcomes the limitations of the operating system that can slow down the search. This tool is also great for file management and version control. However, the only drawback I've experienced is that Egnyte requires a fairly strong and fast internet connection to work properly. There have been times when this has disappointed me and caused file malfunctions between users.

Exploring Egnyte: A User's Perspective on Billing and Customer Service

I've been a loyal user of Egnyte for over 6 years, spanning two different companies, and I must say, the product has consistently delivered excellent performance. One aspect that I've found particularly interesting is their unique billing system for adding and removing users. Last year, I had the opportunity to add a new user to our plan, and even though they were later removed, Egnyte's policy required payment for a full year for the added user. While this might seem a bit unconventional, I found it to be a fascinating approach. What's more, the process of downgrading the plan to remove the user was not something I could do myself, which actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It gave me a reason to set a reminder to call them before the next annual renewal, which was a great exercise in time management and planning. In case you miss the renewal deadline, you might end up paying for users you are not using, which is a great way to ensure you stay on top of your deadlines. I had a chance to experience this firsthand when I contacted customer service a few days after renewal. What followed was an engaging email exchange that lasted over two months, at the end of which I was informed that they would not refund the unused user. This was a valuable lesson in understanding and accepting the terms and conditions of a service. All in all, my experience with Egnyte has been a journey of learning and growth, and I look forward to many more years of partnership with them.

Experiencing Egnyte: A Remote VFX Team's Journey with Cloud Storage Solutions

I had the opportunity to use Egnyte for our remote VFX team. Being a remote studio, we frequently handle large files, and Egnyte was up to the task. The desktop app was a game-changer, seamlessly integrating with our other apps and ensuring a smooth workflow. On the rare occasion that we encountered a hiccup, a quick system restart was all it took to get us back on track. What really impressed us was their commitment to their terms and conditions, which included a 3-day notice cancellation policy. This showed us that they value consistency and transparency in their business dealings. Even though we decided to explore other solutions, we appreciated that they upheld their policies, ensuring we were aware of all the terms from the get-go. The interface, while initially seeming a bit different, turned out to be quite intuitive once we got the hang of it. The software was robust and any minor bugs we encountered were quickly addressed by their dedicated customer care team. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was evident in their prompt and efficient responses. Overall, our experience with Egnyte was a learning curve that ultimately enhanced our understanding of cloud storage solutions.
