I find WebEngage to be a valuable tool for creating integrated, instantaneous campaigns across various devices and platforms, based on customer actions. Its main strength is in user journeys, which are extremely beneficial for marketers. The software allows for easy setup of cross-device campaigns and its integration with Segment.io simplifies the process as most campaigns can be event-driven. The client support is excellent. However, there are a few drawbacks. The dashboard UI response time is slow and the SDK is quite heavy to integrate on the client side. Even though Segment integration can address this, some code review is still required on the app.

I struggled to find an affordable automation tool for Email & SMS that offered good API support and an intuitive journey builder, until I discovered WebEngage. It's as potent as larger automation systems like Marketo, Eloqua or Responsys, but it's more cost-effective and its tech stack is more suited for startups. Since I started using WebEngage, I've gained better control over communication targeting. By delivering the right content in the right context, I've noticed improvements across the entire funnel. It was vital for me to design a user journey that everyone, from techies to PMs to content writers, could comprehend. Most tools are either designed for developers or for people who aren't concerned with APIs. WebEngage, on the other hand, merges the best of both worlds and has the most impressive journey builder I've come across as a marketer. However, the pricing model discourages experimentation and presents challenges in terms of onboarding. Considering that WebEngage doesn't actually send emails or messages, this is a drawback.
