I've been using FreeAgent for several years and it's generally excellent. However, I have a problem with special pool capital assets which prevents me from filing end of year returns, so I'm giving it 4 stars. I hope this issue will be fixed soon, then I'll definitely give it 5 stars.

Fine for Free; Not Worth the Price
I've been using FreeAgent for free through a NatWest business account. It's generally good but has some frustrating limitations. For instance, I can't attach documents or comments to journal entries and the VAT handling is incorrect. There doesn't seem to be a way to affect boxes 6,7 of the VAT return. They do allow a manual edit of the VAT return, which I find absurd and potentially illegal.

Strongly Endorsed and User-Friendly.
I switched from another online accounting software to FreeAgent, which I found to be very intuitive and user-friendly. I was able to quickly complete my full year's figures and submit my own self-assessment for the first time. I highly recommend it. However, I wish there was a 'personal' category for transactions, so they don't show up in business transactions or as 'unexplained'. This is because I've been using my credit card for both business and personal purposes, which isn't ideal.

I found the customer support and initial training for FreeAgent to be outstanding and personalized, even before I bought it. The software has more features than my small start-up needs. However, I find the search function a bit tedious and struggle to refine search parameters. I also can't delete unnecessary contacts.

I am incredibly satisfied with the support I've received from FreeAgent, to the point where I felt the need to write a glowing review. I've even considered applying to be a CRM integrator due to the enjoyable experience I've had. FreeAgent is genuinely the best CRM I've ever used and implemented. The ease of customization, readily available documentation, highly customizable external customer support portal for ticketing systems, and responsive support make it one of the best vendor-provided products I've ever worked with in my IT/CS career. It's visually appealing, simple, and intuitive. The CRM is feature-rich and the customization options seem limitless. New features are constantly being added and the vendor has been extremely supportive in developing enhancement requests. The reporting features and the ability to integrate with 3rd party software like Twilio and Zapier are just a few of the many benefits. I wouldn't pay too much attention to previous reviews mentioning.

User-Friendly FreeAgent
I find FreeAgent easy to use with less jargon, making transactions simpler to explain than on other platforms. I appreciate not having to take numerous unnecessary steps to explain a single transaction. In this modern age, we should be making things easier for each other, not more complicated. I don't understand why we need so many steps and complex jargon for tasks that could be done much faster and explained more simply. My only criticism so far is that FreeAgent only allows for monthly payroll.

Excelling with FreeAgent: A Game Changer for Organization and Efficiency
FreeAgent CRM assists me in tracking changes and updates made by my team to our prospect list through various "Automations". It aids in keeping my team accountable, organized, and focused. The most beneficial feature is the upload capabilities, allowing us to add and update data simultaneously. The most surprising feature is its customizability, with the FreeAgent team working closely with us to create a system that fits our needs as a Property/Casualty insurance agency, even implementing custom code solutions. The best feature is the chat function, which enables us to address most issues or questions promptly. I would appreciate more integration between the CRM apps and the interface FreeAgent refers to as "Lines". I would also prefer more flexibility when generating reports and lists related to contacts and their assigned account. We selected FreeAgent CRM because it was the only one that provided a live demo using our actual data, which was beneficial to us.
