Top Choice for Newsletter Services: SendPulse
I transitioned to SendPulse from another similar software about a year ago and I've never looked back. I've even recommended it to my clients and got them signed up. It's one of the most user-friendly and affordable newsletter software I've encountered, although some aspects could be improved, particularly the newsletter building feature. I primarily chose SendPulse for its quicker customer support. I moved away from Mailchimp as it became pricier and more difficult to navigate.

Decent, but API Implementation is Challenging
I want to start by saying that this review may not be relevant if you're not interested in using the API or transitioning from another service with an existing API integration. In short, SendPulse has two different APIs, both of which are poorly designed and documented, with completely different authentication methods and credentials. However, the application itself is excellent, so if you're not using the API, it's probably fine.The API is functional, but it seems like it was created by someone who read a REST API book of best practices without considering how people would or should use it. My main issue is with the authentication process. It follows all OAUTH standards, but this means you need to manage identity on your application, which feels very Salesforce, not Slack. It feels like IBM made this software when you're using the API, not a start-up.Compared to MailChimp, the MailChimp API is easy. With SendPulse, it's a different story.

To my surprise, they had an additional feature for email address verification, which I found to be a unique and valuable tool, even though my addresses were already valid. This verification process was a bit more expensive than sending emails, but it gave me a sense of security and confidence in the validity of my email list.In an unexpected turn of events, my account was suspended due to a misunderstanding about spam policies. I was taken aback, as I had no intention of spamming. However, I appreciated their strict adherence to policies, which is a testament to their commitment to maintaining a spam-free environment.I invested $5 in the upgrade and email verification, and although I was initially unable to access my account, I took it as a learning experience. I reached out to them, providing proof that the email list was mine. I'm eagerly awaiting their response, confident that they will resolve the issue.It seems like Sendpulse is very serious about their services and maintaining a high-quality user experience. I'm excited to continue using their services once this misunderstanding is cleared up.

The user interface is clean and organized, with intuitive buttons and controls. SendPulse allows us to send a large volume of emails effortlessly, while maintaining a high level of integrity to prevent spam. Their support staff is courteous and quick in addressing queries and complaints, often providing solutions. For example, when we encountered issues with a campaign due to outdated email addresses, their support team offered valuable advice on cleaning our list. However, I wish the software included a built-in email cleaner, rather than having to use an external service. Regarding the cost, although I'm not fond of paying for anything, I received a good deal on a special with SendPulse and am satisfied with the price.

Superb Email Marketing and SMTP Solution with SendPulse
I've had an excellent experience with SendPulse. It's the only product I've discovered that fulfills my requirements for sending programmatically driven email campaigns via API. I've only had to reach out to their support team twice during deployment, and both times they were incredibly helpful and quick to respond to my unique queries, even though I'm still on the free tier. I was looking for a low-cost provider to establish API-based email campaigns. After testing several providers, including more well-known companies, I found SendPulse to be the best fit for my needs. It offers the most features and is the most affordable. While some of the API and user documentation could be better, I've found that their customer support easily bridges any gaps. More examples in the documentation for common use cases, like using API to send emails from contact lists, would be beneficial. I chose SendPulse for its features and cost. I switched to SendPulse because of the API of my previous provider.

Excellent Choice for Budding Businesses
I haven't encountered any major issues with SendPulse, only a few minor ones that I've detailed in my review. The team has been very helpful and friendly in resolving these problems, making my overall experience with the software quite positive. I appreciate that it's affordable, or even free, for most small business owners with a limited contact list. Unlike many email marketing platforms that limit the number of contacts or email campaigns during their free trials and then hike up the price, SendPulse remains affordable. While it doesn't offer many ready-made templates, it's easy to customize your own and the interface is user-friendly. However, one downside is the significant amount of time it can take between sending an email campaign and its delivery. Despite ensuring my newsletters comply with standards, they may still be marked as spam and not delivered to the recipient's inbox. I chose SendPulse over other platforms for these reasons.
