Declining Use of iCloud: A Shift Towards More Scalable Solutions
iCloud was great when it first launched, but sadly, they didn't upgrade their photo and storage features, leaving me needing a more scalable solution as my business grew. Now, I only use iCloud for email and have transitioned to Google Business Drive for all my storage and file requirements. I began using iCloud (and its earlier versions) around 2006 and was struck by their unique gallery and photo features. Their email service is probably the feature I use the most, providing three separate emails (@mac / @me / @icloud). However, over the past two decades, many of iCloud's features have vanished, like the cool gallery feature, and the storage space now has restrictions and can become quite costly. As a photography company, I upload large files daily, so I decided to switch to Google Business Drive, which offers unlimited storage. In comparison, iCloud seems to have lost its direction.

I wish I could give iCloud more than 5 stars! I set up my daughter's phone with iCloud and was amazed to find that it had automatically saved 5GB of her pictures. Talk about a lifesaver, Apple! Ever tried to delete a bunch of pictures without having to look at them one by one? I have, and even after stopping the phone syncing, iCloud made it a breeze. On a PC, it might take a minute - just press Ctrl A to select all and then 'delete'. But with iCloud? It's even easier and more efficient. I'm truly impressed with how user-friendly and convenient this software is!
