IBM Cloud and AWS are two of the most prominent players in the competitive landscape of cloud computing services, each offering a distinct set of features and capabilities tailored to meet the diverse needs of businesses.
One key difference between IBM Cloud and AWS lies in their approach to hybrid cloud solutions. IBM Cloud places a strong emphasis on hybrid cloud deployments, allowing businesses to seamlessly integrate their on-premises infrastructure with cloud resources. This hybrid cloud strategy enables organizations to leverage the benefits of both private and public cloud environments, ensuring flexibility, scalability, and security. In contrast, while AWS does offer some hybrid cloud solutions, its primary focus is on providing scalable and reliable public cloud services. While AWS does provide tools and services for hybrid cloud deployments, its offerings in this area may not be as comprehensive as IBM Cloud's.
Another notable difference between IBM Cloud and AWS is their...

IBM Cloud: Streamlining File Sharing and Web-Conferencing
I use IBM Cloud in collaboration with one of our contract manufacturing partners. We use it for file sharing and hosting conference calls. It's convenient to have both functions on the same platform and initiating meetings is generally easy and reliable, with no crashes or kick-outs. The call quality is usually good and we've had no issues with excess feedback, even when joining from a computer and phone line simultaneously. Sharing files during meetings is straightforward and files can be uploaded for quick access, which is particularly useful if screen sharing is difficult or impractical. Standard online meeting tools, like raising hands, are available and useful during large teleconferences. However, the file management interface is not the best and finding files can be challenging as the number increases. Even though files can be organized into folders, locating them can still be difficult, especially if the exact file name is unknown. There are also certain access levels during meetings that can be hard to understand, making it tricky to allow non-hosts to share.

Enhancing User Interactions with IBM Cloud
I was assigned to create an application using MFP Watson cognitive features, voice recording, and text analysis. I started with MFP, which had limited and outdated information. After making it work, I implemented speech-to-text, which was straightforward. I then created an orchestrator using a Java app deployed on the cloud, which was easy to configure. I integrated other services like translate, personality insights, and tone analyzer, which all worked well after some configurations. IBM Cloud offers various tools for cognitive human traits, numerous references and API info, compatibility with several languages, and multiple endpoints. The pricing guide is scalable and transparent. However, some references are so large they freeze my web browser. Also, when deploying a Java app, I can only view the logs using their web console, which is inefficient. The references and examples need updating.
