-

Cons from reviewers
-
Poor customer service: Numerous users have reported poor customer service from LastPass, including difficulty in reaching support, unhelpful responses, and issues with account recovery
-
Poor mobile performance: Despite its excellent performance on desktop, LastPass's mobile version is not as effective. The biometric logins often require users to type in a complex master password, which can be inconvenient
-
Lack of Firefox support: LastPass lacks support for Firefox, which can be a significant drawback for users who prefer this browser
-
Mishandling of security breaches: LastPass has had several security breaches, and their handling of these incidents has been criticized. Users have reported vague and confusing communication from the company, leading to a loss of trust
-
Limited search capabilities: LastPass does not have the ability to search the vault for logins with duplicate passwords. This feature would be useful for users with a large number of passwords, some of which may be used infrequently.

1Password is acclaimed for its polished interface and emphasis on security through features like the Secret Key, which adds an extra layer of encryption, and Watchtower, which alerts users to security breaches and compromised websites. It caters to a user base that values a streamlined experience combined with sophisticated security measures. The tool integrates smoothly with multiple devices and platforms, and it extends its capabilities beyond password management to secure storage for documents and information.
LastPass, in contrast, stands out for its versatility and broad feature set. It’s particularly known for its accessible free tier, which offers users a strong starting point for password management...

Keeper is renowned for its high level of security, offering zero-knowledge encryption, meaning that only you can access your encrypted data. Exceptional Customer Service and Enhanced Security with LastPass
I initially purchased the wrong plan with LastPass, but their customer service was incredibly patient and supportive throughout the process. They were always there to answer my questions, even if it took a bit of time due to the complexity of my situation. After six months of back-and-forth, we finally had a productive phone conversation where they generously offered a partial refund. I decided to hold out for a full refund, and they were understanding, even suggesting I request a chargeback from my bank. Their customer service truly goes above and beyond to accommodate their customers. On top of that, they've had some security challenges in the past, but they've used those experiences to significantly strengthen their security measures. I feel confident that my information is safe with LastPass.

LastPass - Streamlining Your Online Security
I've been a long-time user of LastPass and it has met all my needs. The ability to sync and autofill passwords across any device is amazing. The automatic and non-intrusive security checks make me feel secure. I value the password security audit feature, which easily identifies the most vulnerable sites due to weak or duplicated passwords, making it simple to maintain my security. I also appreciate the breach detection feature that alerts me of compromised credentials without me having to look for it. However, the lack of a dedicated desktop app, which can only be used with a browser plugin, is a downside. I would love to see a desktop app with global shortcuts for filling credentials into non-browser based applications. I chose LastPass primarily for its price, but also because I prefer its browser integration compared to other alternatives. I switched to LastPass because I wanted a cloud-based data sync with good cross-platform usability. Having a mobile app and credential integration in iOS and Android is crucial for me.

Thrilling Security Journey with LastPass: A Personal Experience
I've had quite an interesting journey with LastPass! It's been a thrilling experience, especially when it comes to logging in from a second computer. The software is so secure that it initially denied me access, ensuring that it was indeed me trying to log in. I was notified that my password or username was incorrect, which was a great way to keep my account safe from potential threats. Later on, I received a verification link in my main email account, which was a fantastic way to double-check my identity. There was one instance where I didn't receive a verification link immediately, but the suspense was thrilling! It was like a suspense movie, waiting for the hero to arrive. And sure enough, help arrived in the form of a real person who reached out to me. They sent me instructions on how to log in, which was a great learning experience. I was introduced to something called a ONE-TIME PASSWORD, a new concept for me, but it added an extra layer of security to my account. It was like unlocking a secret level in a video game! What's more, I had set up face verification on the app and Authenticator verification (passwordless) on both of my computers. It's like having a personal bodyguard for my digital life. LastPass has truly made my online experience more secure and exciting!

LastPass Promises to Securely Store Addresses
LastPass offers to save addresses, but I can't find a way to turn this option off, which I suspect is a deliberate move by LastPass. It seems they are trying to enter the contacts market, which I'm not interested in. It's a waste of my time, as I initially got LastPass to save time with passwords. I can't find a way to provide this feedback directly to LastPass, so I'm forced to share it on a public site. I became frustrated with Microsoft for trying to dominate all markets, and if LastPass continues this way, I'll be looking for alternatives.

Efficient and Secure Password Handling with LastPass
LastPass has greatly enhanced our efficiency with its single-sign on feature, enabling us to authenticate quickly and access our desired applications. The support team has been extremely helpful and the setup of our account was straightforward. We value LastPass's secure storage of our passwords, removing the need to remember each one for all the applications we use. Its integration with multi-factor authentication has assisted us in meeting SOC compliance requirements. However, we do have concerns about potential security risks if a hacker were to gain access to a LastPass account. We opted for LastPass over Trend Micro's password management because of its excellent reputation and superior options and features.

Enhance Your Online Security with LastPass
LastPass is a software that I use to securely save my passwords to the cloud, which I can access using my unique user ID and a Master Password. The setup process was easy, as I just followed the prompts on LastPass.com. I added LastPass to all the browsers I use on every computer. Once the extension was added and I logged in, I could access my saved passwords vault in the cloud. Now, whenever I visit a site and log in, LastPass recognizes my user ID and password and asks if I want to save it to my vault. If I change my password, LastPass catches the new one and asks if I want to update my saved password. This feature is especially useful for sites that require frequent password changes and have odd password requirements. It also makes it easier for IT departments to manage staff password choices. LastPass supports multiple logins for a site, includes a robust form fill feature, and can generate super-secure passwords. It's also available as standalone desktop software.

A Beautiful Facade, Crumbling Foundations
The software was excellent until it wasn't. I found it user-friendly and it functioned well, but its primary role of keeping my passwords and information secure was compromised. My trust in LastPass was shattered after they mishandled security breaches in late 2022. Their communication was deliberately vague and confusing, seemingly to mask their poor data management. I was also let down by their customer support. When we attempted to turn off auto-renew on our enterprise subscription, they deactivated our account. Thankfully, we didn't lose any passwords, but we lost access to the admin dashboard, which was critical for our transition and would be essential for a larger organization. I've been in touch with their support and I believe they are not being honest about what happened. We initially chose LastPass because some of our staff were already using it. However, we have now switched to Bitwarden as LastPass has proven to be untrustworthy with our data.
