Cons from reviewers

  • Remote control difficulties: The software can be difficult to control remotely, with the phone or tablet control working only about 80% of the time

  • Limited selection of backgrounds with the basic package: Some of the slide images are somewhat dull and there's a limited selection of backgrounds with the basic package, requiring a subscription to the media packages to access better slides.

  • Lagging issue: There is a significant lag when inputting anything into Proclaim, to the point where typing a few words can result in losing track of the cursor

  • Slow initial opening: The program first loads and then informs you that it needs an update, instead of updating upon opening, which makes the initial opening a bit slow

  • Sync upload feature unreliability: Despite leaving the laptop open for hours, presentations worked on at home don't always show up on the church computer, necessitating the use of Google Drive to share the presentation file

      Superior Church Software: Faithlife Proclaim

Our church absolutely adores using Proclaim. We transitioned from a less intuitive software that demanded paid updates for fresh media. Proclaim allowed us to initiate a podcast to maintain connection with our members even when they couldn't physically attend church. We value the multitude of features that come with Proclaim, such as the monthly updates and new media, and the option to generate content for other Proclaim users or utilize creations from other churches. We also appreciate its cloud-based nature, enabling both Mac and Windows users to operate on it without the need to buy anything else. The extensive selection of quality media available for a monthly fee is another advantage. We opted for Proclaim due to its cost, monthly new media availability, and its cloud-based nature that permits multiple people to collaborate on it, irrespective of whether they use a Windows or Mac computer. The deciding factors for our switch to Proclaim were its price, features, and the capability to create a podcast directly from the software.

Room for Enhancement in Faithlife Proclaim

I must admit, I'm not particularly fond of Faithlife Proclaim. My team and I are exploring other software options, although the superior ones are considerably more costly. The most frustrating aspect is the lagging issue. Every time I input anything into Proclaim, it lags so much that I can't even type a few words without losing track of the cursor. It took them years to enable us to adjust the font size for each song slide, rather than automatically sizing it to the "right size". They seem to prioritize the additional paid features over ensuring a smooth setup and presentation. We don't need more flashy countdown screens and announcement slides. We need worship through song to be seamless, undistracting, and excellent. It shouldn't be this difficult. I apologize if I come across as harsh, but setting up the songs for Proclaim midweek and running it on Sunday tests my patience at least once or twice a week. I want to be sanctified in church every Sunday.

Thrilled by Faithlife Proclaim's Potential, Yet Some Features Fall Short

I was initially thrilled about the Faithlife Proclaim software, seeing its potential to boost productivity, quality, and integration. However, I was let down when several key features didn't function as promised. Despite this, I still see a lot of value in this software and if the Proclaim team continues to enhance it, I intend to use it in the future. The software streamlines the process of adding songs, references, and sermon slides by integrating lyrics, clouds, backgrounds, calendars, and collaboration into one intuitive platform. It also supports advanced presentations with a confidence monitor for the band and interactive features like phone-answered questions. However, some features that I was excited about have been disappointing in practice. For example, the ability to add chords to the confidence monitor is a big deal, but the 'key change' feature doesn't seem to work. I was also let down by the remote app, which can't be downloaded to Windows devices.

First-Time User Experience in Church with Faithlife Proclaim

My overall experience with Faithlife Proclaim was excellent and straightforward from a preaching standpoint. The software contained everything I needed to launch overhead media and offered quick access to the Bible. Preparing songs with Song Select and managing sermon content and images was a breeze, particularly with the remote app. I was able to control my sermon slides from the pulpit using any device. However, if I was using a single device, like a laptop, in the control room, I couldn't "see" what was coming next once we were "on air". Despite numerous attempts, I couldn't get a preview image on a single laptop. I chose Proclaim by Logos for its user-friendliness for beginners. I switched to Proclaim by Logos because it's a comprehensive solution for sermon slides, song select, CCLI, and more.

      Excellent Tool User-Friendly and Reliable

I've used several products in the past, but Faithlife Proclaim seems to be the most stable one. I've never encountered any issues with it. It's quite easy to use and set up. I appreciate the convenience it offers, as I can edit and update presentation slides from various locations and sync them in the cloud. The slides can also be linked to an electronic bulletin on a member's phone. They update the software quite frequently, which is a positive aspect. However, the program first loads and then informs you that it needs an update, instead of updating upon opening. This makes the initial opening a bit slow, but it's a minor inconvenience. I chose Proclaim by Logos because it was more cost-effective and less problematic than ProPresenter, which I had experience with and found to be too expensive. With Faithlife Proclaim, I feel I get more value for my money.
