Canto: A Lifesaver in Asset Searching and Time Management!
Canto has saved me a lot of time by eliminating the need to search for daily needed assets across departments, servers, and computers. The use of customized portfolios has allowed our end users to browse and search galleries tailored to their needs, while also protecting assets meant for internal use only. However, I would appreciate the option to copy metadata/tagging onto new assets in an album from those already in the album, as this would save time, especially with multiple custom tag options. I chose Canto because it offered customizable gallery portals and had been doing so for years. This immediately built trust, as I knew I wouldn't face any "new service" issues like with other companies who only had it in development.

It also delivers the best Customer Service among all vendors I work with. They proactively check in, ensuring we fully utilize the platform and keep us updated about new features released quarterly. We were so satisfied that we signed a three-year contract upon renewal. I highly recommend them!

User-friendly and Customizable: Canto Review
I use Canto for managing images for marketing and website purposes. It's my favorite file management system due to its easy navigation, regardless of one's skill level. I can share files through email or a link, and make folders private for copyright reasons. I can choose the file size and dimensions when downloading. Although thumbnail loading can sometimes lag, the downloading speed is fast. I highly recommend Canto!

This year, I found myself in need of a better Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. My previous systems were costly, non-visual, and hard to navigate. However, with Canto, I can easily distribute assets to my international offices and customers. This tool has effectively solved my problems. I particularly love the image tagging feature and the ease of searching and finding images. The overall folder structure and visual representation of images make it user-friendly for my employees worldwide. I appreciate that I can add as many users as I want without incurring additional costs, which sets Canto apart from many other DAM systems. I mainly use Canto for images, but I wish documents were displayed more visually when uploaded. I switched to Canto for its simpler and more visual folder structure, and its straightforward tagging and organization features.

Canto has assisted me in creating a searchable archive spanning 4 years of imagery. One of its most valuable features is the ability to add release dates based on when our shows air or when a magazine is published. My experience with the Canto DAM has been incredibly positive. The team at Canto is amazing to work with, always providing answers and tips promptly. I look forward to using this system for years to come as an internal research and sharing tool, as well as a marketing tool for our external partners.

I consider Canto to be an excellent tool that has maintained alignment within our large team. It acts as a single source of truth for various assets and prevents access and server issues, especially with our team spread across the country. It's user-friendly and easy to implement, while continually improving structure and strategy. The branded portals enable our employees to self-serve, reducing the need for manual management of daily requests. However, the interface could be less clunky and could use a modern makeover. I would also like more style guides to customize for different needs and brands within our organization. We chose Canto because it fulfilled most, if not all, of our requirements. We switched to Canto as it was more affordable, user-friendly, and met our specific needs more efficiently.

Fair Software, Yet Seeking Improvement
Overall, my experience with Canto has been fairly good. However, I wish they would include the feature to manually geotag any photo with location information. If Canto doesn't improve and adapt more quickly, I might consider switching to a different provider in the coming years. I value having a single space for all our photos and the ability to share them with partners by inviting them to create an account on our platform. This is much simpler than having to communicate with multiple marketing managers every time they need something. However, our information changes frequently, so constantly having to reupload documents is time-consuming and tiring. I wish real-time edits were possible, similar to Nuclino. It's also frustrating that the content of documents can't be searched for. The Geotag feature is great, but it only works if you have your location preset into the camera's metadata - you can't add in locations later, which is extremely frustrating. This wouldn't be a difficult feature for Canto to add.
