Struggling to Find the Right DAM? Try Canto
Finding the right Digital Asset Management (DAM) for our pictures wasn't easy. However, Canto was simple to set up and nearly self-explanatory for everyone. It won us over with its role and rights concept, good thumbnails, support for almost every datatype, and comprehensible metadata-management. The ability to set up portals has been beneficial in distributing our media to various target groups.

An Honest Take on Canto
We've had a good experience with Canto. The company appreciates user feedback and uses it to develop new features, some of which I've personally contributed to. Canto is well-designed and easy to use. Although everything could always be cheaper, Canto's pricing is competitive. We chose Canto over Dropbox because it had better features and made sharing assets easier both internally and externally.

Transforming Asset Management with Canto: A Gamechanger
Originally, my team and I used personal hard drives and shared network drives for our asset management and communicated with graphics vendors via email. However, we've now transitioned most of this to Canto. A week after launching Canto, HR needed photos of colleagues. Previously, this would have taken hours, but with AI Smart Tagging, we found hundreds of photos within minutes. The interface is intuitive and offers a good balance between a ready-to-use solution and customization options. Custom tags and multiple tagging methods were a priority for us. Some solutions offered more customization but required more oversight, which our small team couldn't handle. The ability to create portals and upload links has revolutionized our asset distribution and collection. We recently hosted a large community fundraiser and gave each photographer an upload link with quick tag options. We effortlessly tagged and uploaded thousands of images. However, the facial recognition feature is weak. They use AWS facial recognition tool, but I believe Google's tool would be more reliable. Currently, we choose not to use it.
