Quality Tool, Requires Significant Learning Investment
Overall, I consider Tableau a solid BI tool with outstanding visualization capabilities. I use it less frequently now, opting for simpler tools for my daily tasks. It provides numerous tools and features that can be tailored for the necessary visualization. Many complex visualizations are supported right away. However, the learning curve is quite steep. I had to invest a considerable amount of time to learn how to use Tableau effectively due to its high level of configuration.

Harsh Unfriendly Experience
I had a negative, aggressive experience with Tableau. I used to be a big supporter of this software as a data consultant, recommending it to my clients. However, their unreasonable behavior during a client's renewal, including threats of debt collectors, has changed my opinion. I will now advise everyone to avoid them. This short-sighted move over a single license renewal has cost them a client and my endorsement. Stay away!

Clear Visibility Across Multiple Objectives!
I love Tableau's capabilities, but I wish it was easier for me to use. I often depend on my more experienced team members to create anything new. Its excellent visualization capabilities allow me to see how I'm performing against this year's goals on multiple objectives and our year-over-year progress, without having to handle the raw data myself. I value that Tableau can update the data source with the latest information each time I open the dashboard. However, it takes time and a lot of practice to understand how to set up the worksheets to answer my questions. The dashboards are even more complex.

Like any other solution, it requires some investigation and learning to understand how it works and how to prepare robust presentations in Tableau. Some older versions don't allow rollbacks. There are some sharing and analytic challenges, and I hope they develop additional features. I chose Tableau because once I started working with it, I wouldn't switch to another.
