      Mailgun: A Developer-Friendly, Cost-Effective Transactional Email Solution

Mailgun used to be one of the most developer-friendly transactional email service providers until they removed their free plan. Despite this, I still find it a really good tool due to its ease of implementation and support by different plugins and software. I find configuring DNS easy, so I have no issues with deliverability. I appreciate the dashboard, which offers good logs and graphs. The documentation is comprehensive and I used to enjoy the 10k emails on the free plan. The prepaid plan is okay. I like the API and interface. However, I find the downtimes and deliverability issues daunting. I chose Mailgun for its dashboard, ease of implementation, and the support team, which offers very quick response times. I switched to Mailgun mainly because of pricing. I had to switch when Maildrill was taken over by MailChimp and the pricing got very high.

Mailgun: A Reliable Partner with a Proactive Approach to Security

I've been using Mailgun for many years and it's been a smooth ride all along! They've been my trusted partner in sending mails across over 6 domains. One day, I received an email from them stating that my account had been compromised. I was initially taken aback, but when I checked my account, everything seemed normal. My mail sending levels were steady with a fantastic 98% delivery rate, no sudden spikes in bounces, and literally % complaints across domains. When I opened a ticket to understand the situation better, they were quick to respond. Although the information provided was a bit vague, I appreciated their proactive approach in ensuring the security of my account. It was a bit of a challenge, but it gave me an opportunity to explore other options. I decided to migrate all my domains to Amazon SES. Since the move, I've not noticed any compromised activity from any of my domains. This experience with Mailgun has taught me the importance of having a backup plan and exploring other options. It was a bit of a hiccup, but their support was there when I needed it. I would still recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable mail delivery service. Remember, it's always good to have a plan B!
