I strongly recommend Foundation software for contracting and construction businesses with more than 20 employees, particularly those who need to monitor equipment maintenance. However, I don't believe it's cost-effective for smaller businesses. The program is user-friendly and easy to navigate if you have a basic understanding of accounting. It's simple to locate, execute, and interpret reports. The customer service is outstanding and they offer a beneficial training week for both new and experienced users. The software is akin to People Soft but without the complexities and confusions. However, some additional programs like project management seem unnecessary or overly complex. The requirement to buy a specific number of "seats" for users can be inconvenient if you don't have enough, as it leaves employees waiting for others to complete their work.

Dreadful IT Experience with Foundation Software
I'm experiencing significant issues with the Foundation software. It constantly freezes and crashes, and the IT team seems incapable of effectively resolving these problems. Their response time is slow and their solutions are often unclear. I'm frequently receiving error messages and it feels like they're blaming me, the customer, without making any efforts to improve their servers or programming. The training videos they offer are poor and the software is not user-friendly for data entry, requiring excessive mouse usage. The Accounts Payable team can't work concurrently without encountering "server not responding" messages that freeze multiple users. We've lost entries and document attachments due to the frequent crashes. Although the reports exported to Excel are easy to filter, the software is plagued by too many crashes, freezes, and error messages. I'm unable to select or deselect more data for specific report running and there's too much clicking involved. I can't keep my hands on the keyboard for data entry and I can't run reports while doing entry.

Outstanding Software with Exceptional Customer Support
I've had a fantastic experience with Foundation. It's ideal for the size of my business and is very user-friendly and customizable. The software is straightforward and the customer service is excellent. However, I do wish there were more standard canned accounting reports like TTM income/balance sheets and the ability to customize standard budget reports. I would also appreciate more filtering criteria for running reports. I chose Foundation for its ease of use, having switched from another software that was bloated and difficult to use. I felt like I needed a PhD in ViewPoint to use it, or had to spend a lot of money on customization. Their support team was also very slow. I received a response from the vendor thanking me for my positive review and offering help with the reports.
