Excellent for all but e-commerce
WP-Engine is great for everything except e-commerce solutions. I've found their customer service for Wordpress to be the best I've ever experienced. However, when I built an e-commerce site on their plan, it took 45 seconds for my shop page to load. I migrated the same site to Shopify and it loaded in just 1 second, making it 45 times faster than WP Engine's E-Commerce hosting plan. I feel I wasted a lot of money on their e-commerce plan, especially as their support claimed it loaded fine for them. I had multiple customers complain about the site's lag, and I'm upset they charge so much for such a poor service. All my other non-e-commerce sites work fine with them. I lost a lot of money trying to make their platform work for e-commerce. I would recommend going with Shopify, as it's incredibly fast, which is crucial for e-commerce when a customer is ready to buy.
