Ideal PaaS Solution with Excellent Support When Required
What I value about Clever-cloud is its auto-scaling feature. As a conference organizer, I require approximately 4 active servers during events to accommodate 5000 to 10,000 attendees. However, once the event concludes, I no longer need such high CPU/Memory power. Clever-cloud's inherent auto-scaling system is cost-effective as it charges only for what you use. I have been utilizing this straightforward platform as a service solution for the Devoxx conferences since 2016. It enables me to deploy Java and Scala backend applications, with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch add-ons. The process is simple - I just perform a git push to Clever-cloud and it's accomplished. The tooling is efficient, allowing me to deploy from my localhost or fetch logs. The support team is always available and prepared to assist when necessary. Although it's not a Container as a Service solution, it does allow for the deployment of a Docker container, but it's not the primary function.

Outstanding Software, Nearly Perfect!
I've had an excellent overall experience with Clever Cloud and now recommend it for all my new projects. The integration and setup are incredibly straightforward, and deploying multiple applications with a database is very quick. The documentation is useful and current. I also find the vertical and horizontal scaling very easy to set up, and I appreciate that I only pay for what I've used. However, I'm not a fan of the database pricing being separate from the credits. I'd prefer to pay only for credits and have the database, which is billed monthly, use my credits for payment. This would save me from multiple transactions, especially when using a currency that's not the Euro. I chose Clever Cloud because of the North America datacenter located in Montréal, Canada. I switched to Clever Cloud due to its pricing and North America location, which is in Montréal and not in the USA.
